Organic Natural Sesame Seeds (whole)
Our natural sesame seeds are brown and unhulled - retaining their outer edible husk - and have a light brown speckled appearance. It is thought that whole sesame seeds may have a slightly higher nutritional value, retaining more calcium, protein and iron. Unhulled seeds have a fuller nutty flavour - the darker ones may taste slightly more bitter compared to the white hulled variety.
Sesame seeds are delicious toasted and therefore are great sprinkled onto breads and baked dishes (combine with other seeds such as pumpkin and poppy for a tasty, nutritions crunchy topping) or for coating for veggie burgers.
Sesame seeds can be used in sweet and savoury dishes; raw or lightly toasted: sprinkled over bakes or salads, added to flapjacks, savoury sauces or processed into tahini - a key ingredient in houmous.
Storage: It is best to store sesame seeds in an airtight container away from sources of heat and light in order to keep them fresh and retain full flavour.
